Described as 'a poet, but also a dramatist' and '...the most sophisticated and compelling music making' (The Dallas Morning News) Young Steinway Artist Rachel Cheung was recently named a finalist at the 15th Van Cliburn International Piano Competition, where she also won the Audience Award. She was also a prizewinner at  international piano competitions including the ‘ 28th Alessandro Casagrande International Piano Competition’ in Italy in 2008; the Fifth Prize at the ‘16th Leeds International Piano Competition’; a semifinalist at the 16th International Fryderyk Chopin Piano Competition in Warsaw, and the Georges Leibenson Prize in the 67th Geneva International Piano Competition. In March 2016, she was awarded the special prize for a Carnegie Weill Hall Debut Recital in the season 2017/2018 at the New York Concert Artists Worldwide Debut Audition.

Rachel was awarded scholarships including ‘The Robert H.N.Ho Family Foundation Scholarship’, ‘The Coutts Bank Scholarship’, ‘Lee Shuk Chee Memorial Scholarship’ , ‘Hong Kong Music Scholarship’ and was sponsored by the ‘Simon K.Y. Lee Foundation’ . In 2011, she was awarded the ‘ Hong Kong Jockey Club Music and Dance Fund Scholarship’, ‘Jackie Chan Charitable Foundation Scholarship’, ‘Bernard van Zuidan Music Fund Scholarship’ and ‘School of Music Staff Prize Scholarship’.
As a recognition for making outstanding achievements in the promotion of arts and culture in Hong Kong, Rachel was awarded the ‘Certificate of Commendation’ by the Hong Kong Government in 2004. In May 2010, she received the ‘Award for Young Artist 2009’ presented by the Hong Kong Arts Development Council.

Rachel has performed frequently in Hong Kong and overseas. She made her debut at the City Hall Hong Kong and Uruguay through the sponsorship of the Hong Kong Chopin Society .In 2005 Rachel performed a solo recital at the 33rd Hong Kong Arts Festival as the youngest soloist ever of the festival. She was invited to perform in the ‘Celebration of the 100th Anniversary of Vladimir Horowitz Concert’ in Kiev, concert tours of United States for two consecutive years. She also appeared in many prestigious international music festivals including the 9th Musical Olympus International Festival in Russia ,The International Chopin Festival in Duszniki, Poland, Virtuosos of Planet 2006 in Kiev, Ukraine, The Festival Transeuropéennes in Rouen, France, Miami International Piano Festival, the Golandsky Institute International Piano Festival and the Sun Valley International Piano Festival.
She made her debuts at the Auditorium du Louvre in Paris and the Steinway Hall in London in October 2009. In November 2012, she also made her first appearance at the Richmond Hill Centre for Performing Arts in Toronto.

As an active chamber musician, Rachel has worked with world-renowned musicians including Vladimir Mendelssohn, Dong-Suk Kang, Jan-Erik Gustafasson, Ning Feng, Trey Lee, Latica-Honda Rosenberg, Jens Peter Maintz, Virpi Räisänsen, Jian Wang, and Michel Lethiec, Bruno Canino and the Brentano String Quartet.

She has collaborated with many orchestras including The National Symphony Orchestra of Ukraine, St. Petersburg Philharmonic Orchestra, Beethoven Orchestra Bonn , Orchestra at Temple Square in Salt Lake City, Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra, Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts Junior Chamber Orchestra, Hong Kong Sinfonietta, Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra with Edo de Waart, the Hallé Orchestra with Sir Mark Elder, the Sydney Symphony under the baton of Vladimir Ashkenazy and the NYCA Symphony Orchestra with Eduard Zilberkant. In November 2015, Rachel performed Mozart’s Concerto for two pianos in E flat major ,K. 365 with Bruno Canino and the London Chamber Orchestra under the baton of Christopher Warren-Green, and the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra with Leonard Slatkin and Nicholas McGegan.

Rachel’s first DVD –‘ RACHEL CHEUNG – KEYBOARD PRODIGY LIVE IN RECITAL MIAMI INTERNATIONAL PIANO FESTIVAL 2005’ was released by VAIMUSIC in June 2007; and her first CD, under the Alpha Omega Sound label of the Chopin Society of Hong Kong, was released in 2009.

Having completed her studies with Prof. Eleanor Wong at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts where she received her Bachelor of Music Degree with First Class Honours at the HKAPA. Rachel continued her artistic development with Prof. Peter Frankl and graduated with a Master of Music Degree from the Yale School of Music, where she was awarded the Elizabeth Parisot Prize for outstanding pianists in the 2011/2012 school year.

香港鋼琴好手張緯晴自小學起就讀九龍瑪利諾修院學校,其後考獲「何鴻毅家族基金獎學金」,升讀香港演藝學院,於二O一一年完成學士學位並以一級榮譽畢業。師隨演藝學院駐院藝術家兼高級講師黃懿倫教授習琴。隨後考獲「香港賽馬會音樂及舞蹈信託基金獎學金」前往美國耶魯大學音樂系供讀碩士課程,師隨Prof. Peter Frankl,並於二O一三年五月畢業。

張緯晴在港及國際間屢獲殊榮。剛於二O一七年六月成為首位晉身世界知名之「范.克萊本國際鋼琴大賽」(Van Cliburn International Piano Competition) 決賽的香港鋼琴家,並獲得最受觀眾喜愛獎 (Audience Award)。

張氏早年為「少年珍娜芭候雅國際鋼琴大賽」、「霍洛維玆國際青少年鋼琴大賽」、「施坦威國際青少年鋼琴比賽」、「英國威爾斯靈閣嶺國際音樂節」及「第28 屆阿萊桑德羅.卡薩格朗德國際鋼琴大賽」的優勝者。更於二OO九年英國舉行的「里茲國際鋼琴大賽」決賽中奪得第五名,這是大賽創辦四十多年來,首次有香港人晉身決賽六強。
張緯晴於「第十六屆蕭邦國際鋼琴大賽」中,晉身準決賽。二O一二年於瑞士「日內瓦國際音樂比賽」獲頒特別獎。二O一六年於美國紐約之「紐約音樂藝術家」選拔賽中獲得特別獎 - 於著名之「卡內基音樂廳」舉行一場獨奏會。

此外張緯晴曾多度獲頒發奬學金,其中包括「何鴻毅家族基金獎學金」、「顧資銀行奬學金」,「李淑慈紀念奬學金」及「香港音樂奬學金」等。同時她更獲「李國賢基金會」之全力贊助海外表演及比賽之一切經費 。二O一一年緯晴更獲頒多項獎學金包括「香港賽馬會音樂及舞蹈信託基金獎學金」、「成龍善基金獎學金」、「萬瑞庭音樂基金獎學金」及「音樂學院教員獎學金」等。

「她曾於二OO二年奪取了「第五屆香港傑出學生奬」。二OO四年五月更獲頒「民政事務局局長傑出服務奬狀」,表揚她在地區及國際文化活動中屢創佳績。二O一O年四月,緯晴獲香港藝術發展局頒發「2009 藝術新秀獎」,表揚她積極為本地藝術發展作出貢獻。

張緯晴在本港及海外曾作多次公開獨奏會及與樂團合作演出。她曾應邀演出的地方包括烏克蘭、紐约、波士頓、華盛頓、亞特蘭大、台灣、蘇聯、波蘭、德國、新加坡、北京、上海、深圳、倫敦「史坦威音樂廳」及巴黎「羅浮宮演奏廳」等。除此,張緯晴曾相繼與「烏克蘭國家交響樂團」、蘇聯「聖彼得堡管弦樂團」、「香港管弦樂團」、「香港小交響樂團」、「香港演藝青年室樂團」、鹽湖城「聖殿廣場管絃樂團」、德國「貝多芬波恩交響樂團」、以色列「耶路撒冷交響樂團」、英國「倫敦室樂團」及與由艾爾達爵士指揮之著名「Hallé Orchestra」合作演出。 二OO九年更有幸與指揮大師阿殊堅納西及「悉尼交響樂團」於香港大會堂合作演出拉赫曼尼諾夫之第二鋼琴協奏曲。

二OO七年六月,VAIMUSIC 為張緯晴發行首張DVD,名為 ‘Rachel Cheung - Keyboard Prodigy Live in Recital Miami International Piano Festival 2005’並於全球發行。此外,緯晴首張CD亦由香港蕭邦社其下品牌Alpha Omega Sound於二○○九年十月推出。

張緯晴於二O一一年一月成為「施坦威少年藝術家」。她於ニO一ニ年獲耶魯大學音樂系頒發「全年傑出鋼琴家」獎。

張氏現任教於香港演藝學院及香港浸會大學 , 同時為 Chamber Music Society of Yale Club of Hong Kong 的創辦人之一 .
